In a significant move to drive digital transformation, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s approval of the Zero Right of Way (RoW) policy has paved the way for a major broadband fiber expansion in Adamawa State. This decision is part of the Governor’s broader initiative to create a digitally enabled environment, aimed at boosting connectivity and fostering economic growth throughout the state.
Backbone Connectivity Network Nigeria Limited (BCN), a leading digital infrastructure company, has officially requested permission to begin deploying a broadband fiber optic network across Adamawa. This expansion is backed by funding from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), allowing BCN to develop a wholesale, carrier-neutral, open access broadband network.
The Zero RoW approval is a game changer for Adamawa, as it facilitates the rapid deployment of broadband infrastructure, bringing high-speed internet access to businesses, households, government institutions, and mobile operators. This project will enhance digital connectivity, improve service delivery, and drive economic activities across the state.
Governor Fintiri’s administration continues to prioritize digital development as a key pillar of progress, aiming to position Adamawa as a leader in Nigeria’s digital economy. The broadband expansion will support improved access to education, healthcare, and government services, while also creating new opportunities for businesses and individuals in the state.
By eliminating the RoW charges, Governor Fintiri has not only attracted significant investment in digital infrastructure but also set Adamawa State on a path toward greater digital inclusion and long-term economic growth.
